STUDENT COUNCIL

What we do for our school & community
The Madison Central School Student Council is a group of students elected by their peers to represent the student body and promote a positive climate within the school. The students work with the administrative team, teachers, and community to achieve this goal. Student Council meets monthly before class meeting days to make sure that we are maintaining a positive school community.
During meetings, members bring forward issues or concerns raised by their classmates. We discuss these matters and communicate them to the administrative team and teachers. If the teachers or administrative team would like to discuss a matter with the student body, they first present it to the Student Council, which then shares the information during class meetings.
Some initiatives we have been working on include:
- Book Fairs for the school and community hosted in the fall and spring
- Community Trunk-Or-Treat
- Spirit Week for the students before Christmas break and team-building activities
- Semi-formal dance for Jr. High and Sr. High
- Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
- Community-Wide clothing donations accepted year-round and distributed to those in need
- Food Drive to help the local food pantry
- School Store-year round for students to purchase school items
