Girls Basketball to host Gray Game on 1/31

Dear Families,

I, along with my husband, Coach Jay Lehmann, are excited to invite you to the Gray Game at Madison Central School on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, being played in loving memory of Greg Jeffris, Madison Class of 1982.

I hope you had the pleasure of knowing my Uncle Greg from Madison. He passed away in 2019 from a very aggressive brain cancer called glioblastoma. Rarely do those who are diagnosed with glioblastoma live for more than two years after diagnosis; it grows quickly and takes control of all of your functioning.

Writing this brings back memories of his final days when he was not himself; I much prefer to think of him riding his Harley, or playing with my daughter.

Ever since we lost him, it’s been my mission to increase awareness and funds for research and support through the National Brain Tumor Society.

On January 31, 2024, Otselic Valley, Stockbridge, and Madison girls basketball teams will be “going gray” for a game in his memory and for all those living with a brain tumor.

Both games are at Madison, modified (MCS vs OVCS) at 4:30 and varsity (MCS vs SVCS) at 6:00. There will be contests, giveaways, and a concession stand at both. Wear gray in support!

Please consider supporting our efforts and the teams by attending the game, donating an item to the concession stand, or donating directly to the National Brain Tumor Society here: https://nbtsevents.braintumor.org/GrayGame2024.

Visit the website, contact myself, either coach, or either athletic director for more information.

I hope to see you there!
