Welcome, New Staff!

new staff with bus

Madison hosted its New Employee Orientation today to welcome 11 new members of the staff, both those new to the district and returning faces in new roles.

Following a welcome from Board President Tobias Abrams and Superintendent Jason Mitchell, new staff boarded an MCS school bus and toured the district. This annual Madison tradition is led by local historian Jim Ford, a Madison graduate and retired Madison teacher, and board member Jona Snyder, a teacher and licensed bus driver.

Both Abrams and Mitchell stressed the support and camaraderie they will find in the school building and in the community.

“We have great people at Madison who love being in Madison. We have community members who are very supportive of the school, and you’re going to find colleagues who are willing to jump in and help you at any time if you need anything,” Mitchell said. “You’ll also see there’s a lot of pride here. We want you to have a lot of pride in being in Madison.”

They returned to the school cafeteria for meetings with school leaders, union leaders and the Connected Community Schools site coordinator before breaking off into one-on-one meetings with their mentors to begin preparing for the new school year.
